2005 — It began with a string of random meetings between fellow musicians. Hip Hop concerts and culture events throughout the state of Florida would lead to end-of-weekend beat sessions amongst the collective of artists. Friends would choose samples and each producer would create their own interpretation by way of instrumental. Emcees and vocalists would then freestyle over the very same beats that would ultimately become songs on their albums and mixtapes.
The years that would follow would bring a handful of artists and producers together along with their individual expertise to create Generation iLL — a music production company that offers a variety of production styles composed by multiple in-house producers that serve the needs of recording artists, record labels, and multimedia studios.
Music production has become like any other profitable industry — where quality is over-shadowed by quantity. Generation iLL beatsmiths seek to bring soul back to the music. Our in-house producers create beats not for a particular sound, style, or genre but, instead, as an expression of self that connects to the listener and can be used to heighten their own art.
